Excellent article.
I spent October traveling to schools throughout the South talking to students about American history. What I found were young people who understand we can tell a story that includes both the positive and the negative. As one 8th grader in Memphis said, “Doesn’t seem that hard, just say both things.”
Tell Students the Truth About American History
We owe it to Americans of all ages to be honest about the country’s past, including its contradictions.

File under collateral research...

I am constantly reminded that, often times, people are MUCH closer in real life than a family tree might otherwise indicate.

So, research those siblings and inlaws like crazy. Never assume some person is too far afield - you just never know.

FAN!

The date for the next census in Ireland has been set. Controversially, they're moving away from the traditional pattern. It will be taken in May 2027 and there will be an option to complete online. www.thejournal.ie/census-2027-...
Next Census date to be set for 2027
The last Census took place in 2022 after it was delayed by a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
