Chuck Schumer did the right thing. A shutdown at this time would have been a catastrophe for democrats. But, he has received a necessary slap upside the head. A better leader would have perceived the base rage clearly and harnessed it rhetorically. Chuck is not up to the moment.

Trump admin is not the least bit threatened by Bernie and AOC. They don’t care about those big crowds. They do care about what happens to Tesla stock because a margin call by his Twitter creditors would break Elon Musk into a million pieces.

Bernie and AOC draw crowds and that’s cool, as socialists they share many values with Dems, but ultimately they aren’t the people who will lead us to winning elections. In two runs, those who felt the Bern topped out at what, 30% of D votes? The huge crowds FEEL good but change nothing.
