Here's me totally screwing around within the first 20minutes of importing the model into Godot. I love these clouds but obviously they can't be in every level, lol.

Hey, if you're bored and trying to find something to do tonight, find a bar or venue or restaurant you haven't been to, or pick a medium or a major artist you haven't tried and give it a go.

If yall need to take a break to cool off, to heal, or just to get your head on straight, do it. A lot's happened in the last 24 and doomscrolling or arguing on social media ain't going to do you or the world any good.

Take some time. Heal. Or, take that energy and go help. Whatever you need.

A reminder to everyone that now is *not* the time to get into arguments that are purely academic, or rooted in who made what prediction. That's just intellectual dick-waving.

If you care about helping, focus on discussing what tactics can *actually help people,* and how to implement them.

This is an important reminder.
Among the many reasons you don’t kidnap a foreign head of state at gunpoint even if you have the capability, is that it sparks consequences you can neither control nor anticipate.

I decided to try making chicken piccata today. I have never had it before. I'm not sure how much I like it, lol. But, it was a ton of fun to make and I'm glad I tried it. I think I learned a little from the process, too. And I have some friends who would probably love it.

Been reading a book about beavers lately and they are fascinating, charming little animals.

Every time someone says "I can't write X, editors will never buy it" an angel loses its wings

Those shining adamantine feathers, sharper than death, slice all creatures in their path to molecule-thin ribbons, blood raining down onto acres of land rendered poisonous for decades.

So maybe reconsider

Hard to find a better person's advice to take on writing, and the whole thread is good. But this one, I think even a lot of veteran writers need to hear every so often.
F) For the love of all that is good and holy stop wondering if your idea is any good! That way lies madness. Your idea, whatever it is, will live or die by its execution. Commit to your idea. Eat and drink your idea. Play with it, have fun with it.

This set of observations is produced by my scrolling Reddit and otherwise listening to people talk about "how to write."

A) there is no requirement that any of your characters has any sort of "arc" let alone a redemption.

B) there is also no requirement that your fiction has a plot.

Also, if anyone's worried they didn't accomplish that much this year? Fuck that. It's been a rough year, and we can't change what's already happened. Plus, you probably managed more than you thought, even if it was just growth and introspection. Look forward.

Not the biggest NY resolution person, but if you WANT to do something, make a goal to help people more often. Keep an eye out for chances to help in your day to day life. When you're pissed, take a moment to pause and consider their view. Folks need help and kindness now more than ever.

Be wary of false dichotomies/choices. If someone tells you something like "you have to pick: affordable housing or fair pay?" it's THEIR JOB to explain why you have to pick. Most of the time, you don't: its their own closed-mindedness at play, or a malicious attempt to limit options.

Books and music is that they're uniquely suited for revolutionary or niche ideas. Creating books and music require a fraction of the overhead that films or (most) gaming does. Way less hands and stakeholders involved. An idea can reach fruition with less compromises and less worry about returns.

A lot to say about this...

-Some appropriate criticism about correlation != causation, and ignoring other things going on
-But protests do help, especially by getting people engaged.
-We need a diversity of tactics. While some protest, others apply leverage or directly help or defend others.

Maybe, if you're not actually in university classrooms, teaching students in the age of gAI, perhaps you might want to stop and listen when people actually in those classrooms raise concerns about what they are seeing; and not just dismiss us as luddites, or boomers, or cruel profs playing cops

Imo the reason Bsky feels more comfy for artists is bcs the community genuinely trying to engage and making mutual support, not just liking posts then scroll past it like any other socmed platforms. Thus, I will try to comment more and I encourage you to do the same thing! :D

I think people would be less trustful of googling answers to their questions if they knew how the SEO industry works.

It's rarely experts giving you an inside look: it's more often an amateur to the subject, in a rush, trying to make something that gets as many clicks as possible.

I think it's incumbent on writers of all kinds to try a few video games a year. Some of the most creative, interesting, and innovative storytelling is being done in the world of video games, through everything from postmodern plays with format and just solid and original stories.
