Little me in elementary school would be losing her mind right now, five classes left until I become one of those scientists she used to read about in tornado and weather books at the library! Nine months to go until I have my degree in Meteorology🌪️📚

This a dropsonde that was dropped into the most intense part of Hurricane Melissa eyewall with winds over 247 mph just a few hundred meters above the surface. It is expected to make landfall momentarily.

Heartbroken to hear of the passing of world renowned meteorologist Gary England tonight. Know for his in-depth reporting on tornadoes, particularly the devastating Bridge Creek-Moore
Oklahoma tornado on May 3, 1999.

A year ago today, I discovered the breathtaking beauty of the Aurora Borealis in the heart of Badlands National Park during the incredible G5 geomagnetic storm, a night that left an indelible mark on my soul. ✨

The administration's plan to withhold NOAA's approved funds threatens vital research and the development of life-saving severe weather forecasts, from long-term mitigation to providing life-saving lead time before catastrophic weather events like hurricanes and tornadoes.

Katy Perry taking a quick 10-minute trip to "space" was supposedly a way to inspire women to pursue careers in aerospace/STEM fields. Meanwhile, women already established in STEM roles at organizations like NASA and NOAA are—*checks notes*—losing their jobs because of this crap of an administration.

It’s unsettling to think I’ll graduate with a Bachelor’s in Geoscience next year while questioning whether there will still be an Earth able to be saved.

I have wanted a Subaru for the longest time, and tonight I adopted a 2016 Subaru Outback. Her name is Gaia, named after the Greek goddess of Earth. She is my first vehicle. I can’t wait to chase so many storms with her. Also, I am wearing my new destroy the patriarchy, not the planet shirt🌎🌲
