I did seminary study and over a decade in parish ministry and I can say that up until 2016 I had never been able to say with complete confidence that Jesus would have slapped the shit out of someone.

The disgusting ape meme, which I refuse to repost, just cements that opinion.

So many terrible takes on Star Trek: Academy

"Ignores the greatness that came before it"

tonight...

"Shouldn't have done a throwback so early in its run."

I get the feeling huge swathes of fandom don't actually want to enjoy the things they say they're fans of.

Elon Musk (SpaceX), Richard Branson (Virgin Galactic), Jeff Bezos (Blue Origin) and Robert Bigelow (Bigelow Aerospace) are all connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

Maybe sometimes a rocket is a penis?

I'm starting to think that we need to bring our space program back to NASA.

Hm.

It appears there's a pedophile who thinks we should just move on from investigating his crimes.

I'm pretty sure that's a common feeling among people about to be revealed to be even more monsterous than they already are.

Do we usually listen to them?

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

George Santayana rose briefly from the grave today, saw his shadow, and walked back into into his tomb shaking his head and indicating that for at least six more generations no one will learn a goddamned thing

I'm trying to think of even the most circuitous chain of events where this doesn't completely screw everyone involved, or close by, or even just humanity in general.

Guy we sold space merges Grok with rockets.

Send CSAM to the moon I guess.
The combined company, with a portfolio including rockets, an A.I. chatbot and the social media platform X, will probably move forward with an initial public offering around June, said two people familiar with the plan who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the details weren’t public.

Do you ever read people with all the power and all the things with all the stuff in the things whine about how all the things are broken and wrong and not how they should be and just burn with the white hot fire of a thousand suns?

So the government that seems to have more paedophiles than a scout troupe has a paramilitary organisation that is abducting kids.

If only somehow the WP, NYT, NYP, Fox, CNN, CBS knew or had some kind of documentation that said this was happening.

So I'm fairly cis and haven't watched Star Trek Academy yet but I tell ya - that Klingon is making me ask questions I ain't asked since David Bowie and Freddie Mercury.

As a progressive I just want to say how happy I am that the Canadian Conservative Party has re-elected Pierre Poilievre, Canada's Most Unpopular Man almost 10 years running, and I urge them to continue this push to get that smirk in front of as many undecided voters as possible.

DHS should be embarrassed that their ICE agent hires are so soft they can’t handle being videotaped, even while masked, so they resort to pepper spraying women at close range.

And we should be proud of the Santa Barbara women who stood their ground anyway.

History needs to be made by the curious, not the credulous.

Think about what and where we are.

Then think about what we do to and with it.

For those of you not playing along with the home game, half of the US economy in 2025 was AI investment and the building of data centers. All the big companies are investing in each other to make it look like infinite growth and everyone has been waiting for one company to blink. When that all stops

So.

We have seen enough or do we still need to release more files before we believe the that guy and some of the most powerful men in the world raped kids?

Because they weren't "young women", they were children.

Children.

Are we done here yet?

Recession? Weird!

It's almost as if this pyramid scheme of life tends to tip over when there are so many billionaires at the top.

It's almost as if wealth hoarding was as bad for the economy as it is for society.

We need mandatory taxes to move that money around, whether they like it or not.
