I went to the @metmuseum.org & asked to be directed to the Assyrian art.

❌ The first worker sent me to the Islamic art section.

❌ The second told me no Assyrian art was on display due to construction, which was untrue.

I found Mesopotamian art on my own.

The ancestors called me.

🌷 Photos are from my first trip to Assyria in 2022. While the New Year parade in northern Iraq this year was met with hatred& violence, I know Assyrians will remain on their Indigenous lands for 6,775 years to come! You cannot break us.

💡 Did you know that the National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri has two Assyrian sphinxes on site?

✨ The Memorial was first designed in the 1920s with an Egyptian architecture revival in mind.

The church I was baptized in.
Recently sold to a boutique real estate developer, the longtime home of Mar Sargis Church at Cuyler & Wolcott in North Center was permitted for demo yesterday. A former Lutheran church, it was purchased and remodeled by the Assyrian Church of the East parish in the early '50s.
