This is interesting - National have launched an "electorate finder' feature on their website, and even put it at the first item on their nav menu. Would love to know what they're doing with the data they're collecting! #nzpol

Some of the top comments on one of National's hysterical posts attacking Labour's CGT policy. They're not winning this debate. #nzpol

After seeing the ED ward at Wellington hospital last night, it’s a full on crisis.

Jam packed with beds lining the corridors, fully surrounding the ED desks.
NZ's emergency departments are in crisis - partly because they're full of people who can't afford to go to their GP. It's a disgrace. Labour's new Medicard policy is a great way to get things... back on track. #nzpol www.1news.co.nz/2025/09/22/e...
ED doctors across the country plead for help in letter to Health NZ
A doctor in Christchurch’s emergency department said the hospital was at breaking point and hits code red almost every day.

An example of how CGT work, in this case for when Luxon made a cool $700k tax-free by flogging one of his seven houses at the peak of the market…

He'd be paying about $150k CGT across the ditch 😒

Bit of a panicky afternoon for the National Party.

Looks like National are really panicking about Labour's CGT and health policy - I think they realise how popular it will be with the vast majority of voters. #nzpol

#ResolvePM Qld (state) LNP 33 ALP 32 Grn 10 ON 9 IND 7* KAP 1 other 7 (* likely overstated)

My 2PP estimate LNP trails 49.3-50.7 (-0.2). V similar to previous Resolve Qld poll. Polls by others in first half of year much stronger for LNP. #qldpol

Miles sheds support but major parties neck and neck
The gap in primary support between the two major parties has closed slightly, but voters are increasingly uncertain about their preferred premier.

By my count Labour won 50 of the 68 (74%) local government races they contested. They should be very happy happy with this result - and hopefully it encourages more local government efforts in the future. #nzpol

With a quick count it looks like ACT Local have won 8 of the 47 (17%) local government contests they stood in. They just lost out in a decent number of other races too. #nzpol

Low ballot returns in the local government elections so far? That's worrying - but highlighting 'low turnout' can turn it into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Better: show that many are voting, share local examples, and remind people their vote counts. A 🧵 #nzpol
