I think Newsom does for certain centrist Dems what Trump did for certain conservatives, which is give them a pass to express the grossest views they hold but that they know are not a good look and/or not in line with how they want to be seen.

I’ve been thinking abt how the AI bubble is a perfect illustration of this. They can burn so much money not making any profits while trying to make fetch happen bc a billion is an absurd number

I wanted to be a vet when I grew up, until I realized animals die and that pet death makes me very upset. It's p a good thing I changed my mind tho bc if someone told me they didn't want to vax their animal bc they're worried about what's in the vax I'd probably reflexively punch them in the mouth
