Happy Pancake Day! 🥞

Here’s a an alternative to the kind you sprinkle with lemon and sugar:

The Pancake Batfish from the Gulf of Mexico… not much of a swimmer, this little guy likes to ‘walk’ about the ocean floor on his pectoral fins foraging for worms!

Really hope this means what I think it does - very exciting!
As it's #WorldWildlifeDay we couldn't contain our excitement.

But you will have to wait until next week for the full announcement.

It’s hard to have a favourite when they’re all so awesome but I do love anteaters… the longest snoots, the fanciest tails and expert ant gobblers (I’m weirdly scared of ants, despite knowing they are pretty amazing little guys 🫣).

Stunning ❤️🐺
Essential. Endangered. Extremely chatty.

The characteristic howls of Red Wolves usually include a series of barks, yips, + sometimes growling, especially when voiced in alarm. The Red Wolf’s howl sounds somewhat similar to a coyote’s, but is often lower pitched + lasts longer.

Welcome news today with the publication of the NBSAP - now comes the work to turn targets into action across all four nations 🤝

We need the Environmental Improvement Plan review to lock in action in England and help ensure that the UK as a whole delivers for nature 🍃

I’m a scientist who studies how climate change impacts our lives and the places we love.

Most of us are worried, but many feel stuck on what to do. If that's the way you feel, check out this list below!

We can’t fix it alone, but I know we can together. 💚

There are more than 40 species of ladybird in the UK (known as ladybugs in the US). These colourful beetles are a beneficial insect that can help maintain a healthy ecosystem in gardens and green spaces.

Our new paper, based on data from 1,705 studies, shows that pesticides are toxic to organisms they are not intended to harm, including fungi, microbes, plants, insects, & vertebrates such as ourselves. Questions the wisdom of applying over 3 million tonnes of them every year...

At a time when climate news can feel overwhelming, it's important to remember that small, everyday changes — like swapping your kitchen sponge — really can make a difference. 🌍💚 #SustainableLiving #EcoFriendly #SmallChangesBigImpact #GreenLiving #SustainabilityMatters
When kitchen sponges like these break down, they release microplastics that end up in the sea – harming marine environments and the animals that live there. And they can't be recycled, so remain in landfill for 100s of years. For eco-friendly sponges see: bit.ly/42rwUOX

Popped out at lunchtime and look who we spotted! 🦉 @barnowltrust.bsky.social We watched this beautiful barn owl hovering and hunting for a few minutes before it swooped away over the fields. Felt like a little bit of magic! #OwlSighting #NatureSpot
