Listening to my entire music collection and documenting it on BlueSky
Backxwash - Only Dust Remains

This one is a grower. It definitely takes a few listens to appreciate. Experimental, conscious, varied hip hop

History of Violence is a particularly potent song

Gig Night!

Clutch / 1000 Mods / Bokassa

@Manchester Academy

Finally ticked Clutch off my bucket list.

My last outing of 2025 and a hell of a way to end the gigging year.

Who's for some medieval fantasy heavy metal?

Cool album. Another one that I've listened to quite extensively lately. Its pretty epic.

Affliction Vortex by Dawn of Solace isn't the most inventive album but it's a really solid metal album tinged with gothic and doomy elements. Right up my strasse

Posthumous releases can sometimes be a tricky proposition. Not in this case. Balloonerism, recorded over a decade ago is a really strong release. Mac Miller's talent at wordplay is on full display. The beats and flow are engaging. Great album 🙏

I saw Witch Fever supporting Volbeat a couple of months ago and they were great. Well worth a spin, the new album (FEVEREATEN) is great and is another one that I've had on rotation lately

Its safe to say that Pupil Slicer won't be everyone's cup of tea

However I have been enjoying it on repeat over this last month. Much like Lord Snow, they deliver blasts of noise in invigoratingly inventive ways.

The album, Fleshwork, all builds to the epic closer...Cenote

Now watching This is Spinal Tap. It has actually been far too long since I last saw this

R.I.P. Rob Reiner 😢

I have had this one on hard rotation

Have You Heard of the High Elves by Lord Snow

At 29 minutes this is succinct but potent blast of mathcore noise...if that's your bag

This album just gets better every time I hear it

Messa - The Spin

Beautiful vocals and excellent atmospheric instrumentals. It is gothy-synthy-doomy.

Love it.

What are some of your all time favourite movie posters? The ones you used to adorn your walls with (or maybe still do), or use as desktop backgrounds on your devices.

Here's a few of my choices.

My #LetterboxdFriday is looking a little grim (at least 3 of the 4)

Not sure what came over me watching Barefoot Gen, Grave of the Fireflies and Threads all in a row 🤯

Grim masterpieces, all of them. Though it will likely be a while before I do that again

A random #5debutalbums1014 selection with pretty much 4 distinct genres here.

Haken
Death Grips
Phantogram
FKA Twigs

I don't think any will make my vote but its all good stuff

Lord Huron's debut is pretty good folk rock album. I only really discovered them over the last year or two. Pleased to get back to the beginning with this one #5albums1014
