Getting stuck behind a taxi who was driving so slowly, they must have been being paid by the minute, was so tedious my music system thought I'd be better off in #whamhalla and played Last Christmas. Lasted longer at #whamageddon than previous years at least. Pass the mead!

I'm not sure how long it'll be still I'm fully able to hit the dancefloor again, but I think when that happens next year, I definitely want to go dancing - any plans/ideas @emmagiverny.bsky.social @creamhorn.bsky.social ?

No sign of any bruising this morning, but it definitely looks like I'm not going to be running any marathons in the near future (or ever, but that isn't related to the injury 😉)
Well that was a first (and hopefully last) - I some how managed to misjudge the last couple of steps on the stairs down whilst taking out the recycling. No lasting damage, but my ankle is definitely not happy about things. Which is really sucky timing as I have dancing plans this week 😭

The latest addition to the franchise, Predator: Badlands, is a very enjoyable movie. This one diverges from the usual format, by having the Predator be the protagonist. He is a young Yautja (they have a species name now?!?) whose clan considers him a runt, worthy only of death.

One of the key themes of the Tron universe is that you can tell who the good guys are vs the bad guys cos the former are a pale blue and the latter are a dark red. So I find it very telling that Disney rendered their logo in a dark red colour.

I recently went back to looking at the code for my Wurm affinity food calculator and decided to rewrite it, cos there were bits that were messy and bugging me. But more importantly, I wanted to see if I could work out why the sums weren't working sometimes.

Oops. I had not noticed my handle went bye-bye due to some DNS shenanigans. At least it is fixed now.

I can't believe I've hit 1000 days of learning Klingon and still feel like I would struggle to have even the most basic of conversations in it.

The Roses is loosely based off of the book The War of the Roses (itself made into a movie back in 80s) and is a dark comedy about a couple whose marriage is going off the rails. I don't remember much about the version from the 80s, but I feel this is a fresh re-imagining of the story.

I watched Superman and it was surprisingly good, even by recent DC/WB standards. And I think they did a good job for a Superman movie too. He is cares about the people and the world he's trying to save and tries to avoid getting innocent civilians involved in the fights he is having.

I watched the F1 movie earlier in the week and it was very enjoyable. I'm sure it'd have people who watch/know anything about the sport frothing at the mouth cos a lot of the plot does seem kinda far fetched to me.

I watched Black Bag the other day and it is very good. It is a spy thriller about a spy being tasked to find a mole in the agency, with one of the possible suspects being his wife. There is a definite retro feel to the whole movie, especially the musical score.

It has been a while since I've written anything about the movies I've seen recently and that is in part cos I'm really bad at getting around to writing anything, but also because there hasn't been much on in the cinema that I've wanted to see.

I saw Better Man a few weeks back, but never got around to writing down my thoughts on it until now. It is the biopic of the British music legend Robbie Williams, and I think it is probably the best biopic I've seen in recent years.

I went and saw Companion last week. I was kind of thinking it was more towards the horror genre, but thankfully I was mistaken. Sure, it is full of bloody violence, but it is much more of a comedy than anything. Or at least I found parts of it funny. I thought it was very good.
