Wrapped up Act 3 of Silksong, what a banger of a final boss and overall what a fun final act. I have a bit more I could do in Act 3, but I think I've Silked my Song for the moment.

I’ve enjoyed Silksong, but I gotta say I’m a little tired going into Act 3. The runbacks, shard system, and general tankiness of enemies in the game have made the experience a bit more demanding across the board, and I’m not sure how much tolerance I have for things to kick it up a notch in Act 3.

I was looking back at my vids and I legit thought these would have broader appeal, even within the niche of Blasphemous 2. I'm happy to have made them and think they're neat, but I have terrible instincts as to what videos will resonate with ppl.

In a landscape with so many incredibly tightly-designed metroidvanias, Silksong's exclusion of quality-of-life features is not an oversight!! It is essential to understanding the game!
I think my favorite insight in this piece is in how it considers annoying design decisions diagetically. an exploitative religious economy, charging the devout to use a bench, skimming off the top when they want to save their rosary beads, etc
reviewed Silksong, whose friction is fundamental to its humanism. (may we, twisted by this historical moment into alienated vermin, be like the bugs)
