Loosing a friend and a young smart colleague suddenly and tragically is very tough. It reminds us of our mortality & how family & friends are the most important things in the grand scheme of things. The machine, the hospital, the department they all go on and will go on without us.

Do not ask those affected by racism to convince the racists to be less racist. It’s traumatic. It’s degrading. And it signals that even you -their supposed friend- think they need to justify their existence.

Seeing #UK fall for the same shady characters like #Farage who gave us #BREXIT & the media not having the back bone to challenge & fact their narrative is a recipe for disaster.Left in the UK needs to learn from Canada and Aus. Standing up firmly and non appeasement with strong leadership is needed

The only way to stop all this infighting is to level the playing field. Make recruitment central merit based, get #UK grads to sign mandatory work contracts for 2-3 years & ensure that IMGs who are already in the system get the same benefits as UK grads. Stop #PLAB & exploitation #BMA #RDC #IMG

It seems like the post World War 2 World order is crumbling. Diplomacy, Human Rights and Shared Development Goals have gone out the window, replaced by xenophobia, racism and hyper nationalism, old opium pills packaged in new packing via social media funded by billionaires to the masses.

I have just discovered that the only thing that will make my hyper 2 year old fall asleep is a studio ghibli piano cover play list with fire flies. I am milking this as far as I can. Hopefully this lasts for a few days !

I don't agree with this. The shortfall of training numbers is because we don't have enough training numbers.
We should also be investing in how to better support the careers of folks without training numbers. This was my career, and it has been harder than it might have been, despite my privilege.

I wonder if half the cases flooding the A&E in UK testing positive for Influenza A are actually this ? Would be in line with people having severe T1RF after getting infected. This is a scary thing for the world and will be on a level of greater damage than COVID
