Will this make more sense tomorrow? Maybe not! But we're covering The Face of the Monk by Robert Hichens anyway. 🥃

Books 71: Salt Slow by Julia Armfield. Armfield is so cool and these short stories are amazing. A creepily powerful girl band, monstrous women, and her specialty: wet horror. Pick this one up and read everything else she writes.

🥃 And @thejessicaberg.bsky.social will not stop talking about Taskmaster (2015 - current TV series), while drinking a pretty good St Agrestis Phony Mezcal Negroni.

Book 61: The Suicide Motor Club by Christopher Buehlman. This was a good vampire book, but it's a follow up to The Lesser Dead, which is a Great vampire book.

@horrorandahalf.bsky.social I don't know who I would like to be least haunted by, think I WOULD like to live in a house haunted by myself. We know ghosts can tidy up and I feel like if I was my own ghost, we could take turns?

Listening to @horrorandahalf.bsky.social while gardening, wandered away from my phone for a minute, and then listened with increasing confusion to the recap of 13 Ghosts, a movie I've seen 100 times. Except....I don't remember a lion ghost? Or tar pits?

tough to decide who to root for tonight between The Team That Thinks A Win Is Vindication Of Our Big Damp President vs. The Team That Benched Travis Konecny, both of which are probably of equal importance and disgust to me

Except apparently for Amazon who aren't listing the hardcover or paperback as available. Trying to get this fixed and hope to have it resolved ASAP, y'all.

Book 1: Last Days by Brian Evenson. Previously, I've only read Evenson's short stories, but I loved this novel. (A PI who is depressed because a bad guy chopped off his hand is kidnapped by a pro-chopping cult to solve a murder.) Sparse and dark (lots of chopping, obv) but also really funny.
