Just gonna say this again for games sphere cus we get the same question:

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

More ideas. We’re not going to run out of ideas but generative AI is a tool for people who don’t want to be involved in the step between idea and art. People whose own ideas will never evolve or become more complex because they don’t actually want to interact with or examine them.

My last three pieces from summer pottery class were all flower pots. They turned out ok but my favorite glaze combos are apparently all super runny so the bottoms had to be cleaned up with a grinder. If I take another class I think I'll have to take the time to do some more glaze tests.

Default dinner when my appetite and energy levels aren't great but I know I need to eat something decent: broth with random protein and vegetables thrown into it
(chicken broth with miso, tofu, beef, napa cabbage, spicy pickled mustard)

Last year, an author mentioned my shop on her substack. It changed my income so drastically that this is the spike of orders from that *one* mention last year. Word of mouth for an artist can change everything.
