I’m the ecofeminist who wrote The Chai House series & knows that it is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to our profoundly sick society.

If you are not approaching Harry Potter with the same righteous indignation that we are globally approaching Tesla, you don’t understand what’s at stake. This isn’t an issue of a “problematic author”. The woman is using her money and power to worsen oppression. Stop helping her.

A reminder to reporters: Because Trump tariff numbers are made-up nonsense, using the phrase “reciprocal tariffs” is lying to your audience. The phrase itself is propaganda. They are not reciprocal.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Democrats appealing to the missing center and imaginary moderate Republicans for 2026 & 2028 is a complete nonstarter.

They don't seem to realize the earthquake of mass anger that is brewing right now. They will fuel the creation of an actually viable new movement AND party.

Someone talk to them.

Even after all this they need time to strategize. Just vote no. Be fucking jittery and vote no.
Senate Democrats met privately today for lunch to discuss strategy. They widely disapprove of the six-month bill that House Republicans passed, but they remain jittery about a government shutdown if it fails. With Rand Paul a NO, the bill needs at least 8 Dems to pass the Senate. Jury's still out.

i think shutting the government down is preferably to nullifying article i of the constitution
The weeks of performative “resistance” from those in my party were limited to undignified antics.

Voting to shut the government down will punish millions or risk a recession.

I disagree with many points in the CR, but I will never vote to shut our government down.

This is how it’s done folks. If your rep won’t hold a town hall because they know what they’re doing is unpopular, hold one for them and let everyone in your community know what they’re up to.
Congressman Jack Bergman’s constituents held a town hall tonight—because their cowardly congressman refused.
He’s happy to cash a taxpayer-funded paycheck but too scared to face the people he’s supposed to represent. Pathetic.
