There are a lot of changes to the LOTR movies that I am not a huge fan of but one that I think would have been seen comedically rather than heroic is the of the Helms Deep Battle.
Just imagine Gandalf finally appears, the heroes are stoked.

I think my most hated trope in anime (and anywhere) is when a character does a thing, then some other character spends 5 minutes explaining why it's impressive.

It's kind of depressing that even among socialists most peoples understanding Socialism is based on governments and groups that usurped those ideals to consolidate power. Groups that weren't even popular among the people at the time of their uprising.
