ICE is a secret police force. No warrants. No courts. No lawyers. And no appeals. People vanish in the night, not because they broke the law, but because the law no longer means anything. The knock on the door is the sentence.

I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children.

But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.

They were able to do this because they have strong unions. In many places outside of the English-speaking world, liberation movements are something connected to the lives of working people, not just online subcultures and academic niches.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!
