Homes should be for people, not for profit.

We need to take housing back from corporate landlords.

Our plan will do just that, by building lasting affordability, strengthening tenant protections, and opening new paths to ownership so Canadians can afford to put down roots.

Almost-live reaction from @naomiaklein.bsky.social the @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social victory party!

What a night: democratic socialism for the win, with a laser-like focus on the everyday emergency of just trying to get by. With solutions as big as the crises we face.

New Yorkers just proved bold socialist ideas can win. Ottawa just proposed the most harmful climate and care budget since Harper.

Bold ideas win and we need to rebuild that kind of NDP.

How can the NDP reconnect with voters?

Scrap the focus-tested messaging. Communicate directly with passion and substance. And start advocating for solutions as big as the crises we face in ways people can understand.

It's official: Alberta now has the lowest minimum wage in the country. 🏅

The minimum wage hasn't been raised since 2018, and Danielle Smith has no plans to change this.

A system where over 630,000 votes equals only one seat is not democracy, it's distortion.

As the NDP leadership race ramps up, candidates must make proportional representation central to their platforms so every voter gets a voice, no matter where they live.

When Canada needed oil during WWII, Imperial was under Crown control serving the public interest.

Now it's 70% owned by ExxonMobil.
Billions in profits, cutting 1 in 5 jobs.

The biggest enemy of fossil fuel workers is not climate activists. It's the industry itself.

Danielle Smith and the UCP are launching a massive, expensive ad campaign to avoid funding classrooms and pay teachers instead of just... funding classrooms and paying teachers.

Make it make sense.

Nothing screams “protecting kids” like trampling their rights with the notwithstanding clause.

Danielle Smith’s UCP government isn’t safeguarding anyone. They’re just proving how far they’ll go to legislate cruelty.

If we had proportional representation we wouldn't have had a Conservative government since 1984. Canada is a progressive country with a broken electoral system. #ndp #cdnpoli #electoralreform

Polls have just closed in Battle River-Crowfoot. In a few minutes or hours we will know whether or not the residents of that riding made the right choice.
August 19, 2025 at 2:30 AM
As the Battle River-Crowfoot residents vote, I cheer for the Albertans living there to make the right choice and elect someone who will represent them. Whoever that may be, we sure no who won’t represent them. #cdnpoli #alberta

The Name “Conservative” does not fit the UCP. They do not work to conserve anything, but instead to undo the progress Alberta has already made. We need to call them what they really are. Regressionists. #alberta
