I’m quite surprised that enough people are still aware of the fate of SS Edmund Fitzgerald to make memes of it on the 50th anniversary of its loss with all hands.

My playlist shuffled on to something that reminded me of Rebel Galaxy Outlaw and I got sad and the angry at toxic gamers who hounded the developers out of the industry

Huh, even the nation’s chain-smoking drunk homophobic racist uncle is saying fireworks should be banned now. I didn’t have that on my bingo card.

Mobile app accessibility people, is there any way to incorporate accessibility in to automated tests? Ideally I'd like to be able to export the current accessibility info to a snapshot of some sort so we'd know if something had changed it.

There must have been a motorbike rally in Auckland today, there were several groups heading down Tamaki Drive, some in costume including at least 3 fairies definitely not dressed for the slide.

It's always interesting looking at papers where they try to correlate brain structures to sex and gender. The answer is always "Some of the time it's right most of the time".

Some of you may have heard about a crash involving an electric bus here last week.
Contrary to the NZ Herald reporting, turns out the batteries did not ignite. It was the internal-combustion car that collided with it.
My thoughts are with the bus driver's family.

I wish that medical literature would stop comparing the risks of things like breast cancer and blood clots in trans women to cis men.
Yes the risk increases. Because _women have a higher risk of those_.
The risk almost never exceeds that of cis women.

Finally got around to opening my AirPods Max, they broke over a year ago. It’s easier than reported but will damage them.
The screws turn towards the centre, so top left and bottom right go clockwise, the other two anticlockwise.
Run a thin shim between the case and plastic to break the glue

Yay it makes the noise!
If you use the iOS hearing test and get an audiogram that looks like this it says “little to no loss”.
However this level of hearing loss can make it very hard to understand speech especially with background noise.
Hearing aids (including AirPods Pro) may help.

Simeon Brown wouldn’t understand ethics if the bridge he was running over after taking candy from a baby collapsed due to the engineer skipping the calculations to spend more time chatting up the receptionist and the builder only using half the concrete and pocketing the money.
