This brought some warmth to my heart of this dead-cold Winter's day.
Minnesota organizers confirm 50,000+ marched in Minneapolis amid brutally cold subzero temps around −20 °F. Protestors stood against impunity, ICE, and the Trump regime’s occupation.

They paid respects to Renee Good who was murdered and then publicly defamed by the regime. #3E

If Republicans' recklessness and nonsense only hurt them, it would be sad. But the fact that threatens all of us is completely unacceptable.

I wonder if all the people who complained that some people got student loan forgiveness while the complainers hadn't been offered it will also refuse these new cancer vaccines bc earlier cancer patients they knew didn't have the benefit of them.
Just as this news was announced:

mRNA cancer vaccine shows protection at 5-year follow-up, Moderna and Merck say
The vaccines are tailor-made to target each patient’s unique cancer.

THIS is why Trump chickened out of Davos and turned the plane around.
“The system’s power comes not from its truth but from everyone’s willingness to perform as if it were true.”

Mark Carney explains how totalitarianism works.

The lesson couldn’t be more clear: do not obey in advance. That is how freedom erodes and dignity disappears.

Just finished the the BBS/AMC series This is Going to Hurt (2022). It is really well written and Ben Whishaw is so compelling. How did this not get renewed?! Also, hospital doctors are fucking heroes.

Pew Research Institute (2023):

• Red State Texas has about 2.1 million undocumented immigrants

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.

People complaining that Virginia's move today to redraw congressional districts is "getting down in the mud" with Texas are too cute by half.

If Democrats didn't do this, it would be legislative malpractice.

Some thoughts I have on the inauguration tomorrow of our (Virginia's) first female governor.

There are people online resurrecting the right-wing smear about her "wearing a plastic bag on her head" and inferring that it's a sign that she's dimwitted or something. Here's what I have to say:

Just finished Netflix's new take on Seven Dials. It was less of a traditional Agatha Christie outing and more a super hero origin story. I think it's perfect for our dark times. I really hope it spawns a series; it deserves to.
