Publicity @ Scholastic. Professional Book Shouter. UW Husky. Seattle will always be home.

This feed is probably too children's books for sports people and too sports for publishing people.
Best news. I finally pulled the random gift book pile out of my closet and they all have a recipient for the upcoming birthdays/Christmas.

I am two (2) events shy of confirming all my Spring tours before Thanksgiving and I just need the universe to GET IN LINE because I need the win.

Got to trivia early so I could get a seat and the guy next to me is explaining how to write a 5 paragraph essay to the bartender whose first language is not English but she's getting a degree at an English speaking institution.

It is delightful. He's doing such a good job they don't even need me.

Plus of Washington being in the B1G is that I can watch all the games. I will never miss PAC12 Networks.

Minus is they're all on Fox Networks and so I have to watch so many commercials that make me want to tear my hair out.

After @bookriot.bsky.social put this in their newsletter I had to go try it and getting to be a "Boss Shuffalo" might be the highlight of my day thus far.

You know you're a truly dedicated nerd when you're sitting in a bar full of laughing, talking people playing trivia all by yourself and dreading the moment when one of those people decides you need to be included.

It's the middle of the 14th and I never thought I would miss the Manfred Man but here we are.

UW. I love you. But how dare you make me watch Dave Portnoy.

I've got a 4 hour drive ahead of me tonight and I need a new audiobook. Any recommendations of something you've loved recently?

I tend to like interesting magic systems, grumpy/sunshine romances, and nonfiction on niche/weird/out of the way topics.

Hooray for MILLIE FLEUR'S POISON GARDEN!
A picture book is a deceptively complex object: Ideally, it should be mind-expanding, psychologically astute, vividly illustrated, and—the most elusive criterion—fun. Here are 65 essential titles, chosen by The Atlantic:

You know, GameDay being at Oregon really frees up a lot of my time on Saturday mornings. Actually really enjoy having a built in excuse to not pay attention to ESPN's garbage.

I had made my peace with the Phillies losing this series. The Dodgers are a brutal draw and they played it close the whole way. No shame in losing.
I was, however, hoping for that loss to come in a style that wouldn't make Phillies fans act like crazy people all winter.

I'm going to puke. And it's not from being upside down on the couch for the whole game again.

Good morning

I think this counts

Plan accordingly

I need you all to know I have spent this whole game upside down on the couch because the Phillies play better when I do that.

Don't ask me to explain. It's playoff baseball.

Even if this game is sort of painful from a shooting-ourselves-in-the-foot perspective at least the Seattle B roll continues to be unmatched.

See you in a month, Seattle.

Sometimes being a Phillies fan is actually fun and I sometimes forget that when things are stressful and we're losing to the Marlins.

You can tell I've been listening to the same ads on Phillies radio all season when I start interrogating them.

Hello Friends. If you have sent me an email or asked a question or requested a book sometime over the last... 3ish weeks... and I haven't gotten back to you yet, please follow up.

It's fall publishing and my head is barely above water. I am the biggest mess and see no end to this before November.
