The three women who were murdered are referred to in this @MetroUK headline as "BBC man’s wife and daughters" - surely they could have been referred to in their own right? If not named then their ages or occupations, not who they were in relation to him.

Thanks to Jeremy Vine for having me on BBC Radio 2 with Harriet Wistrich to discuss the Kiena Dawes case.

Yesterday’s verdict shows how often mental health is weaponised to excuse abuse.

I stand with families seeking justice. Abuse is the root cause.

Ryan Wellings, who abused and coercively controlled Kiena Dawes for two years, threatening her with acid and to use a drill to take out her teeth, was today CLEARED of manslaughter after her suicide.

Today’s result is an abhorrent injustice. This is murder in slow motion ⬇️

Stuart Hogg walks free after 5 years of coercive control against his wife. His lenient sentence raises urgent questions about how we address domestic abuse.

“I feel like Stuart’s had absolutely no punishment. My first thought was, is that it? It’s not enough,” said Gillian Hogg.

Stuart Hogg: The Costs of Leniency towards Coercive Control
This week deals yet another dangerous green light to perpetrators of domestic abuse and a devastating blow to survivors seeking justice.

David Moyes confirmed as Everton manager. I think the club has had eight managers in the eleven and a half years since he left in May 2013 after eleven years. Howard Kendall had the job three times in the 1980s and 1990s

I still keep one foot in the platform formerly known as Twitter for the good people in my network, but this week it’s felt like a raging dumpster fire (even more than usual).

…or maybe it’s an endless tire fire, burning into a toxic layer, choking us all. I’ll be posting more regularly here now.

It's International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women today, the key takeaway being: Men. Stop killing women. I expect every man in my network to call out misogyny by other men, including friends and peers. If my 9 old can to this to his classmates, so can you.
It absolutely is, especially male allies. @nazirafzal.bsky.social soberly related the statistics at our Annual Meeting this year. You can hear him in our last podcast episode. #MoMoreViolence #VAWG
