Dad. Husband. Small Business Owner. Attorney. Strongest Avenger. State Senator for Northern Wake and Granville Counties.
Celebrated #Juneteenth in Wake Forest today with friends and neighbors. Also spent time touring the Ailey Young House - a rare example of Reconstruction-era African American architecture and powerful reminder of the history rooted in our community.

I had the pleasure of attending the Millbrook and Wakefield High School graduations last week. Wishing all the new graduates success and happiness as you take your next steps. #WCPSS #Graduation2025

It was a beautiful day at the 3rd Annual Cars & Carnivores Street Festival! Had a great time, saw some amazing cars, and enjoyed the sunshine. Big thanks to the Wake Forest Rotary Club for all their hard work. Already excited for next year! #carsandcarnivores #WakeForestNC

Grateful to @ross.house.gov for joining us at our first fundraiser for 2026. The fight for the soul of America isn't over - and Senate District 18 is going to hold the line.

NC's unhinged gun lobby is upset that SB50 (permitless conceal carry) doesn't allow conceal carry while drinking alcohol or on our college campuses. The same group also advocates for the deregulation of silencers and disbanding the ATF. This is not what responsible gun ownership looks like. #ncpol

For all of their talk about protecting victims of domestic violence, Senate Republicans today rejected an amendment to their gun bill that would bar domestic abusers from getting a conceal carry. Don’t listen to what they say - watch what they do. #ncpol #ncga

North Carolinians support responsible gun ownership. But there is nothing responsible about allowing a teenager to conceal carry without any training or instruction. This bill is lazy and cynical, risking innocent lives in order to pander to the most fringe elements of the far right. #ncpol

Honored to have attended the Northern Wake Fire Department's Annual Award Banquet.

My friends at Neighbors on Call and County to County have teamed up! It's like 2 mini lion bots coming together to form one super-bot. #Voltron Together this amazing team knocked 660 doors in Granville for me and @cohnnc.com on Saturday - 660 doors and it's still only March! #ncpol

Packed house yesterday with @cohnnc.com, Rep. Dante Pittman, and all of our friends at Neighbors on Call and County to County. This team is fired up and ready to go!

This effort underlines a fundamental lack of understanding of America's federalist system and our role in it. We are elected to represent the interests of NC and its people - not President Trump. #ncpol #ncga

With all of the cruelty currently coming from the far right, it’s important to remember - they are painfully weak and so very sensitive.

Jennifer, Jack, and I were honored to attend the 2025 Wake Forest State of the Town Address alongside town, county, state, and federal representatives. Especially proud that Jack was there with the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department Advisory Board.

Today I introduced SB103 - Make NC School Calendars Great Again (or "MNCSCGA" for those who are so inclined). Local calendars should be left to parents and their locally elected school boards, not lobbyists and politicians living in other counties. #ncpol #ncga ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/2...

This bill does absolutely nothing to lower healthcare costs. It does, however, provide future GOP legislatures the excuse to roll back contraceptive care. NC women have suffered enough under this legislature - that's why I voted "no" on S24. #ncga #ncpol

Tonight I am struggling to find the right words to honor my friend and colleague, Joe John. He was kind and patient and steadfast in his beliefs. And I can say no better of any man.
Joe John, 1939-2025

You broke the mold. Thank you for serving all of us so well.
