Her baby was in the NICU. She was in ICE detention.
Before Trump took office, postpartum immigrants were rarely detained by ICE. Nayra Guzmán was detained while her 15-day-old baby was in the NICU.

There’s no such thing as “conversion therapy.” No one has ever had their orientation forcibly changed. They’ve merely been psychologically and sometimes physically tortured into feeling shame to temporarily refrain from acting on their attraction.

This has really crystallized for me the fact that a great many MAGA Republicans have invented their own new religious movement, which has absorbed Christian symbols for legitimation purposes, but stands far outside Christianity in order to literally sacralize their politics and deify politicians.
