Thinking about Octopus Bill (she/her) today 🐙💖
I feel like I know some folks who would be very excited about this!

(I'm not qualified, but would be tempted to apply anyway if I lived in the required area)

I just read Bog Queen by Anna North and I really enjoyed it!

Contact by Carl Sagan

It's not necessarily my all time favorite book, but it's easily the most sacred to me.
Ok, everyone, what book is sacred enough to you to get sworn in on?
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

If you go to bed before midnight on December 31st, you don't have to remember the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne 😎

Accomplishments are great, but 2025 was the year I got a laminator.

"You’d ask a bot for a summary and forget what it told you, then proceed with your day, unchanged by words you did not read and ideas you did not consider."
Great post about generative AI. Happy Holidays. Don't say I never gave you anything. anthonymoser.github.io/writing/ai/h...

AI cannot make art that changes the way I see the world, so I'm just not interested in whatever it can do (other than guzzle water and electricity and give rich people another way to hoard money)

My current proofreading project has tipped me over 1.5 million words of game text I've been paid to read!

I went back to the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium for my birthday to meet their new Giant Pacific octopus and she was initially a bit shy, but came over after she got her shrimps and it was *amazing*!

I forgot to get cake for my birthday yesterday, so I made @smittenkitchen.bsky.social's Gingerbread Snacking Cake today!

I don't know that I mixed the flour enough (you can see little lighter flecks on the top), but it's still very tasty!

If "good ideas" = low risk/high return investment projects, maybe we are.

But "investors are running out of ideas they are willing to tolerate risk for" is a headline no one would talk about- I yawned just writing it.
This column on Vox is the biggest pile of steaming AI crap I've seen this year. Human's aren't running out of ideas. Instead, those with power and money don't want to listen to ideas that threaten their power and money.

Ideas are plentiful. Putting those ideas into action is the hard part.
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

I cannot nuke copilot from orbit off my work computer because of permissions and it's creating a hostile work environment.

Got some Real Good News in my email this morning and I actually cried happy tears

I got a little ahead on proofreading today and I'm going to bed before 11pm, much better than yesterday!
December 7, 2025 at 4:50 AM
I need to go to bed, but my brain has been fighting it for an hour. Revenge bedtime procrastination got me again.

This is the best idea I've ever had and if you do this you have to tell me about it.

Just printed out the 25/26 Year Compass booklet!

I do this every year and it's a lovely way to remember what I did this year and give myself support for next year.

Finally, someone acknowledges BPG's *unhinged* back catalog!

In all seriousness, it's a very good review of Desperation, and I hope it means more people will check out the game. I helped make the Roll20 version and I'm very proud of it!
"I adore #Desperation. It's proof, as if it was needed, that designer @jmstar.bsky.social is an absolute legend, a titan of the tabletop scene. And together with the rest of the team at publishers Bully Pulpit, they've put together like, a gothic narrative train set." - @itsquinns.bsky.social

I wanted to highlight some of the weirder offerings we have at #paxunplugged!

I’ll start with Public Guest 5. It’s our solo TTRPG about living beneath an artificial menacing planet. You roll 2 dice once every real-world day until your world explodes. Until it does, you live your life well.

Today: Packed as much as I could and tested negative! I also finished knitting a pair of fingerless gloves (with stash yarn, even! Please clap for me).

Tomorrow: Get to work early so I can check into my flight while not in the car.
Today: hit page 299 out of 784 on proofreading
Tomorrow: covid test & pack for Pax
