No amount of economic pressure will in itself make Putin stop the war. Preventing India from buying Russian oil will probably make the global oil prices go up and not down, btw.
In an interview with CNBC, Trump stated that Russia will end the war when oil prices drop, as it has a "terrible economy."
He also plans to "very substantially" raise tariffs on India within 24 hours due to its purchase of Russian oil.
