I ended up getting myself a discounted art supply advent calendar and I've been really loving getting to try tools I'd normally never pick up. Messing around with them has brought out some giddy, child-like joy of discovery and made mixed media all the more fun. You can combine all the things!!

The main thing I want to emphasise is that traditional art is not as scary as people make it out to be. Not having an undo button shouldn't become a roadblock to testing things out and just having fun - that's how you learn! In my experience there are only happy mistakes that turn into discoveries.
