Imagine if the local paper simply investigated the claims and discovered why crime was down. You could even do that without giving a single kudos to the mayor

Anyway, support @wbez.org
From the Editorial Board:

We’ve said from the start that the nothing-to-see-here, murder-rate-is-down, crime-is-under-control, we-know-best argument from local politicians was a loser.

One of my favorite initiatives in American history was to replace Braceros we hired college athletes for summer internships and it was a disaster
Brooke Rollins on farm laborers: "There will be no amnesty. The mass deportations continue, but in a strategic way. And we move the workforce toward automation and 100% American participation, which with 34 million able-bodied on Medicaid we should be able to do fairly quickly."

I don’t think you have to be optimistic all the time. I don’t think I’m built to believe in myself all the time. I DO think having people who will be optimistic in your time of need, and you there’s is critical for survival

I want to live in a world where companies are punished that have employees that even qualify for welfare 😒

Annnd what this guy said 👇🏼
The point of "work requirements" for welfare isn't to get people to work or save the government money (which they don't), the point is to generate animosity toward poor people and justify tax cuts for rich people.

We live in a country actively sending people to a torture prison w/o due process and we are wondering about AI welfare cause it “sounds human” 😭😭

All while not having universal ethics of applying AI or any guardrails at all in society??!???

Missing the plot in an understatement, my guy
My new column is drawing rave reviews like “go fuck yourself,” “die, loser” and more! Take a look and add yours to the pile!
“Can ChatGPT experience joy or suffering? Does Gemini deserve human rights?” our tech columnist asks. “Many A.I. experts I know would say no, not yet, not even close. But I was intrigued.”

This was such a well researched post about where we are right now. Did nothing for my anxiety but provides good insight as we all hedge our bets and make preparations for whatever happens next 🥲
April 21, 2025 at 3:23 PM
I want some people to try new ideas like: let’s stop wasting tax payer dollars on deportations to torture dungeons and give a path to legal status && helping workers here to not have to compete with illegal wages which drove them to trumpism to begin with 🙃
I won't speak for others but I want candidates who won't just win the next election but aggressively, unapologetically destroy trumpism and rebuild everything he's broken. If you're too afraid of a 51-49 poll to even talk about an issue I have no faith that will be you
NEW: A deportation case exposes a rift among Democrats over how to take on Trump

One camp sees a pivotal moment to lean in and fight a lawless move.

Another camp sees a trap and wants to pivot to hitting Trump on his growing economic vulnerability.

A missing point of this whole AI taking over everything discussion is that we need humans to keep doing innovative research and creative things to give more data to models or they cannot improve
April 19, 2025 at 12:44 PM
I always held up companies in such high regard for strategy, little did I know so much of it is “vibes” 🙃
