I’m logging off of this site again for a bit. My mental health cannot take arguing with what are probably astroturfed GOP accounts.

Dems finally have an ounce of momentum against this regime and these people want to give it all away and just let Trump have the Sudetenland. Fuck that.
November 9, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Chamberlain (or GOP astroturfer) finally blocked me. Please don’t give this asshole any rest. Shoo them back to X where they belong.
November 9, 2025 at 5:44 PM
YOU ARE COLLAPSING THE COUNTRY THAT I (AND ACTUAL LIBS / PROGRESSIVES) CARE ABOUT AND WANT TO DEFEND BY CAPITULATING. There’s nothing worth saving once you give it all away.

Jesus Christ you’re stupid. Fuck off boomer.
November 9, 2025 at 5:36 PM
If you’re not a GOP astroturfer, you’re sick in the head. Fuck off back to X.
November 9, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Hell I probably can’t name a thing you wouldn’t surrender in the name of “stability”. This country isn’t fucking worth saving if we’re just gonna have assholes like you give everything away to Trump for free.
November 9, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Oh sorry I tempered my language in my last reply because you hadn’t gone full mask off.

I’ll bite. Fuck you you fucking doddering (clearly) boomer. You’ll give up healthcare, our entire safety net, all progress on race and equality, trans rights…

Maybe watch a movie other than Dunkirk. Or perhaps even do some reading (gasp) that explains the causes of WWII rather than just single battles once we were already in it.

You might have a different take on how to handle fascists after you brush up on history. We’ve already learned these things.
November 9, 2025 at 5:28 PM
You’re know what you’re right. We should give Trump the Sudetenland. I’m sure the country he remakes in his image will be worth saving, as you suggest.

You’re a maga-lite clown and I’m done with this conversation. Dunkirk wouldn’t have needed to happen at all if Chamberlain hadn’t caved.
November 9, 2025 at 5:28 PM
But now we’re in it. He won’t give Dems, or Americans, anything unless it’s dire now. It would undermine his claims that everything is perfect under Trump.
November 9, 2025 at 4:55 PM
I didn’t support the shutdown initially because I wanted Dems to take a more grassroots approach showing how health insurance bills were going up to force Trump to act.
November 9, 2025 at 4:55 PM
Centrist Dems are hellbent on cosplaying Neville Chamberlain - just so they can wash their hands of some temporary discomfort.

Trump isn’t going to negotiate after the govt reopens. He’s going to come down harder on every single thing we hold dear.

Fuck appeasement.
November 9, 2025 at 4:55 PM
Adding the other thread I stupidly started with this person so you can see their responses.

I’m not arguing any more because they’re in favor of giving Trump whatever he wants to avoid any disruptions to our precious economy.

If you wondered if a Chamberlain persona still could exist in 2025…
I don’t know what you’re reading but this is not the “same page” from what I can see.

They’re saying “open the government right this second”. They are decidedly not saying “Give Americans the bare minimum of subsidies necessary to afford shitty health insurance so we can open the government”.
November 9, 2025 at 4:51 PM
You think you’re clever throwing an ahistorical example in, but the real corollary is that you and Schumer are trying to be Chamberlain to Trump.

There is no appeasement here. You give him an inch he’ll take a mile. He’s not going to negotiate once the govt is reopened are you insane?
November 9, 2025 at 4:33 PM
I am being sane, realistic, and tactical.

If no one has health insurance and another pandemic sweeps through this winter, what do you think happens?

Dems just crushed Trumpian candidates in the elections by fighting back. Now you want to immediately capitulate?
November 9, 2025 at 4:33 PM
Does anyone have data on the proportion of time / media hits that cabinet secretaries are doing relative to other admins?

I know it’s traditionally a part of the job, but I feel like it’s had to have gone up in this admin.
November 9, 2025 at 4:23 PM
Neither of these say that Republicans should give in and save subsidies that barely help a vanishing number of Americans afford unaffordable health plans.

They just say “air safety / commerce is more important than whatever you guys are fighting about, open the government”

MAHA should be so proud 🤗

Now these lovely people can learn how to cure their (checks notes) asthma and atrial fibrillation with $100/month juice cleanses.

But at least Mars said they might think about not using artificial dyes in M&Ms in 2 years. So you know. America is saved!

I don’t know that I’ve ever thanked my parents enough for shelling out on a Ti-84. That device was expensive as hell, but single-handedly improved my chances of getting into, and then graduating, college.

This is a good piece. Proud of MoCo moms for (likely) rejecting this cretin without even knowing the depths of her insanity.

Makes me almost want to brave the state run liquor stores and move back, just to be mean to this idiot.
The moms of Montgomery County don't like Bethany Mandel because she's a jerk to trans kids, and that tells a lot about America's political realignment.

American conservatism is a home for unlikeable people who’ve turned their unlinkability into a political project.
