Standing on Chanctobury ring, 200mm zoom towards Brighton. Can see the start of the seven sisters in the background. Bonus mountain biker going past the pig farm on the South Downs Way :D

Re-reading the Ravenor trilogy again and came across this incredible artwork of his chair. Had something pretty damn close to this in my head! ravenor.artstation.com/projects/N5Q...

Really cool exploration into the forced perspective shot with a moving camera, mostly known from LOTR. Also touches on some interesting side subjects about the golden era of dvd bts and the loss of showing how the "movie magic"is made.

Spent the last 3 hours cleaning out so much crap from my house. So many empty boxes from things I've bought over the years that I thought I might sell on but never did. 3 bags of clothes going to the charity shop. And a massive re-arrangement of my computer area.

Feels good!

Finding a lot of new level designers on Bsky through QBJ3. Hello brush monkeys 😁
January 4, 2026 at 1:46 PM
QBJ3 has a wild start map. Such intricate details and some lovely functional additions to Quake such as blanking out teleporters for maps you've played (useful when there are 70+ maps!) and each teleporter giving you a rough playtime estimate and difficulty rating.

Also, disabled access!

Anyone want to make a Half-Life 2 map from this 👀

What an absolutely incredible turn out from the Quake community! It's gonna take me months to get through this
had to wait until the servers weren't so overloaded, but I'm proud to announce that Quake Brutalist Jam 3 is out now!
there's a standalone version that works like a game for those who don't own quake too!

Starting the year by overloading my bike and cycling to London worked out great. Maybe my legs would disagree

New blog post: "interest sources", contextual NPC interactions, as deployed by me in @sleightofhand.game and other things. Here is one way that you, too, can keep your code from ballooning while actively encouraging your design aspirations to balloon

I'm actually gonna have a non party related Nye and then ride my bike home to London on New year's day.

Starting 2026 positively I hope. Then I get to find out if I have a job or not, and how many of my friends I'll have to say goodbye to because the games industry is a turd.
