It’s genuinely bizarre that people who refuse to show their face or identify themselves are demanding identification from people who are fully visible.

Wow, they really are tracking down the most hardened criminals in America, even the bloodthirsty monsters who work at ... toy stores?
DHS employees entered our store this afternoon and served us a Notice of Inspection, demanding copies of I9 forms for each employee.

In 27 years as shopkeepers, we have never been subjected to this type of investigation.

Having seen several abductions up close, it is really hard to convey how much the thing they’re doing is roaming in military convoys until they see someone who is alone and isn’t white, and then jumping out in large numbers, pulling them into a van, and screeching off, all in 90 seconds or so.
"“They specifically asked me if I knew where the Hmong families lived on my street & in the neighborhood.” Lugert-Thom responded, “I don’t know anything about that” & she said they then asked, “Well, what about the Asian families?”"

"“I was a bit shaken & a bit shocked of what I was asked to do.”"
A St. Paul resident says federal officers knocked on her door and asked her to identify Hmong and Asian households in her North End neighborhood last week.

Infuriating.
BREAKING: ICE agents pepper-spray peaceful demonstrators and journalists and deploy chemical irritants in Minneapolis.

Our partners @statuscoupnews.bsky.social captured the moment live on the ground as it happened.

Mr. Rubio said switching back to Times New Roman would “restore decorum and professionalism to the department’s written work.” Calibri is “informal” when compared to serif typefaces like Times New Roman and “clashes” with the department’s official letterhead. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/09/u...

Really well done.

Can this message still get through to all the people closing their eyes and covering their ears? I don’t know. I hope so.

Really enjoyed this book. If you're interested in climate change, check it out. Tells an important (and often frustrating) story about truth vs. money. We've known for decades that we're destroying our climate, but a well-funded resistance has focused on creating doubt and uncertainty. It's working.

Here's another gem from the obituary for Tom Robbins in the NY Times. Such a playful, creative mind who brought serious joy to so many readers.

It's hard to pick a favorite Bob Uecker story, but here is one that always makes me smile. Great stuff.

Let's all be thankful for the Chicago Bears. Fewer people are bickering over their differences at the Thanksgiving table right now, and more people are coming together to laugh at the Bears' ineptitude. What a lovely gesture. Thank you, Bears.
