I find it *fascinating* when people give some harsh / direct feedback and I reply on Reddit/Discord/Steam forums and agree and thank them then they IMMEDIATELY soften their tone and act a little flustered that they are actually being heard.

For map generation I've opted to use Perlin noise, and write the values out to a texture.

You can see the "debug" view of the proposed map in the bottom left corner which shows different shades of red, indicating different possible tile types you'll encounter.

I ditched the "eyeballs" and went straight for this idea of having pixelly sprite eyes that I can animate much easier and make this lil dude just a bit more expressive
