I think it's important not to overlook the common birds, so here's a beautiful little robin, from RSPB Pulborough Brooks last weekend, early in the morning 😍🌅🐦🪶 #birds #birdphotography

Did u know? Autumn & Winter are times for planning in the garden. It's when I ensure pollinators have enough food for the next season. By taking cuttings of plants like Lamb's Ear & Penstemon I'm guaranteeing food for all sorts of solitary bees, bumblebees, butterflies & hoverflies. Go cut.🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🦋🐝🪰

Shorelark - Great Orme, Llandudno 13/11/25. With the bird reported mid-morning and today giving a brief respite to the poor weather, it seemed now or never. Certainly becoming a rarity on the North Wales coast. #birdingWales

Yay! My order of bulbs just arrived. Some daffodils but I'm most excited about the great camas bulbs! Got a bunch of them and I'm planning on planting them in clumps between some of our fruit trees. Great camas (Camassia leichtlinii) is a native flower here in western WA. The bulbs are edible too! 🌱

Did u know? This might not look like an inspiring pic, but as summers get hotter & drier, storing precious water becomes more important. Installing water butts is a great way to collect 100's of gallons of water for tough times. We use the water in our butts to top up our wildlife ponds. 🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🐸🦎💧

Hen Harrier ‘Susie’, whose chicks were stamped to death in 2022, has been found dead on a North Pennines grouse moor with gunshot injuries
If ever there was an example demonstrating the high level of persecution faced by Hen Harriers on UK grouse moors, the lack of consequences for the offenders, and the lack of justice for the victim…
