I like words that start with the letter B.
My daughter wrote a poem at school about one of our cats specifically:

My daughter asked my husband, who was working from home on his laptop, if he was going to email her teacher to let her know she’s sick.

“I’m doing that right now,” he said.

“You can do emails on a computer?” She asked, shocked.

What is the point of a ring camera if it doesn’t capture the “these are the people in your neighbourhood” song you sang for your husband?

My daughter’s principal introduced the next dance by saying, “it’s the start of wedding season in Saskatchewan” and everyone knew what that meant: the chicken dance.

How many times has someone said “I just want to listen to Depeche Mode and watch my cats,” because it’s not once?

The idea of a moat around a castle is ever so romantic, but it also makes me fret about water-related structural issues.

I just said “I don’t have the energy to figure out the Google,” as if I were a 100 year old Luddite instead of 45 year old with a masters in information studies.

I live down the block from a polling station and streams of people have been walking there all day with voting cards in hand. It’s beautiful to see. Let’s hope today ends as nicely…

This is one of my favorite sets in my collection. Somewhere out there in the 1960s, a kitten and bird were pals. 💕

I’m not a hockey fan, but it does warm my heart to see people in jerseys zipping down the bike lane to the arena on bikes and lime scooters. This car town sometimes remembers what it feels like to fly fast through perfect weather.

The moment I held up my new purse to take a photo for a friend, BOTH cats jumped into the shot and posed like 90s CK One models.

I made a fairy door for the tree on our boulevard and though I pretend I’m just a whimsical neighbour, this is 100% a witch/gingerbread house situation. I want all the sweet little cuties to stop in front of my house.

I explained to my daughter what it means to earn an EGOT. She asked, “do you have one?”

Shockingly, I don’t.

Cleaning out the pockets of my winter jacket, I found my tape measure and a tube of lipstick. Since I am who I am the lipstick was almost never applied, but the tape measure was used constantly.

Shout out to all the parents scrambling to find the raincoats they put away last fall. We are back in the every season every few hours month.

Love is picking all the mushrooms out of last night’s chow mein into your bowl so your husband doesn’t has to eat any in his leftovers. I haven’t decided if the love is for my husband or the mushrooms yet.

Our cat sitter arrived after we were gone and left before we got home from our trip. I imagine my cats are just bursting to explain about the mystery lady who slept in the house and played with them before disappearing back into the great outside world.

Attention—I just found the dryer ball that has been missing for years inside an old duvet cover I pulled out of the closet. All is well in the world.

It boggles the mind how Premier Smith can take a harder line stance against the prime minister of her own country than the president of an enemy nation.

If she's unsure who is the bigger threat, her advisors have failed all Albertans miserably.
