Today I lost an NIH grant training clinicians to do research about intimate partner violence with perinatal women.
More women are murdered in the perinatal period than die of obstetric complications.
I didn't just lose a grant. We lost an entire cohort of people building careers to prevent that.

A powerful example of the harm this administration has already managed to do, just in the world of medical research:
“I have been working on a cure for incurable cancer that is *this close* to getting to patients after >12 years of (quite challenging) work, and the effort is on indefinite hold.”

It is shameful that RAINN, representing sexually abused people, erased trans people because they are scared of Trump.
To any org censoring themselves: you cannot jettison trans to save yourself. Yes, if you don't, other groups may suffer, and you might too.

Again. Where are all the medical societies???!
Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Neuroscience, Dentistry all represented. The only medical society here is ATS and possibly GSA (which seems more multidisciplinary than primary medical).

Thank goodness for @drsforamerica.bsky.social a smallish but mighty group of 30k or so drs. But this should have been the work of the AMA (rep 300k drs). Where are all the medical societies & associations? Instead of taking a stand too many are sitting on the sidelines “carefully monitoring” events.

The only one practicing medicine without a license here is Donald Trump. These kids, of all kids, need our support. Call your congressman.
