Sitting on watch in the Missile Compartment of HMS Resolution somewhere where the oggin is cold:
MC Patrol: Chief, what's a pun?
Me: It's a play on words
Him: Don't all plays have words?
Me: Go do some rounds. Now.
Sitting in a Bradley in Iraq, it's 115° and we are watching cement dry (literally).

Driver: hey sir if I pissed on bar of soap, is it still usable? yeah it has piss on it but it's soap, so it's clean right

Me: uhhhhh

Gunner: *long drag on a gauloises blonde* smith what the fuck is wrong with you
It's really hard to explain what the weirdest people in the world who also happen to be in the military in direct proximity to you are like, but we've all met a whole bunch of them.

Just down the road from Hinton Ampner is this tiny 13th C church. A memorial to one of Wellington’s commissaries. Capper was instrumental in the development of the tank. And Gunner Fremantle, someone’s husband and father

My biggest gripe with lego is it's one of those hobbies where only the hobbyists actually respect the cost of the build. Everyone else looks at it and assumes you spent 1/10 of what you actually spent cause that's what it's worth.
