Hegseth and Trump are direct threats to everyone one in this country. The speeches given to military leaders were authoritarian and openly hostile to the American people. It’s hard to believe anyone could stand in front of the top brass and carry themselves so poorly while advocating such violence.

Listening to elected Democrats talk about elections like it’s business as usual is infuriating. Trump is attacking norms and voting systems. It’s not about simply persuading 10% of voters to win an election anymore. The whole system is threadbare and the old norms are dead.

God’s will is not a hidden essence that humans can access through speculation. God’s will is made known in God’s self-disclosure in Jesus Christ. To know God’s will is to listen to the Word, both as Scripture bears witness to it and as the Spirit makes it alive in the church.
