Keen on theatre, rugby, cricket (most sports, really), food and drink, particularly wine, holidays, humour and writing. I've written two thrilling adventure novels for 9-12 yr olds, both sadly unpublished as yet. New to Bluesky so finding my feet.
Another good day to cast a film with actors sharing 10 November birthdays. Hugh Bonneville 62, Tartan Egerton 36 and Walton Goggins 54 (of White Lotus fame) would be an awesome core of acting talent. If only we could revive Richard Burton too. He would have been 100 today. Happy birthday all.

THIS IS SO GOOD

6 Nov is a good day to cast a film with actors sharing the same birthday. Nigel Havers 74, Sally Field 79, Thandiwe Newton 53, Ethan Hawke 53 and Emma Stone a sprightly 37. Perhaps a James Bond (retired)? I'm sure Havers would love being 0074...

Am I the only one to imagine casting a play or film starring actors who share the same birthday? Today offers Sir Derek Jacobi (87), Catherine Deneuve (82), Christopher Lloyd (87) and the lovely Saffron Burrows (only 53). What a cast! Any thoughts on a play?

I've read somewhere that the estimated cost of rebuilding Gaza is 54bn dollars. Which is about half the cost of building HS2. Does that put it into perspective?

Crikey Moses, that Ryder Cup last day was a humdinger. Good on the Americans. I didn't think they would have the fight but they certainly did. Heart in mouth time!

In one of our archive strong rooms there is a shelf. The shelf does not contain the most exciting or interesting item in the archive but it does contain something amazing.

Wow!! Cancelleresca, a calligrapher based in Derry, N Ireland, sent me these today, just because they felt like it. Written with steel pens and gouache on watercolour paper. A delightful celebration of my words. Spontaneous collaborations like this make my heart sing 🖋️❤️

@the-rsc.bsky.social went to The Constant Wife tonight. Expected to see Rose Leslie in the title role but she's indisposed so her understudy was on. Brava Jess Nesling. An excellent performance in a delightful production. Fine acting and direction all round.

Reform is a Limited Company

Farage owns 53%

It was formed in 2019 to push for a “no-deal Brexit”

It wants to reintroduce the Liz Truss budget

It wants to privatise the NHS

& invest in fossil fuels

Close the BBC

& break International law

It’s a scam

For many years I have been posting little observations online. What you may not know is that for many years, artists have been illustrating them - for no reason other than they wanted to respond. Below is a thread of some of these beautiful drawings because they should be seen 🧵

I post lots of stuff for free, for your and my entertainment, and that's the way I've always liked it.

I do earn my living from selling my work, so if you feel like supporting my cartoons are popular and I draw each one individually - they're not prints. www.worldofmoose.com/collections/...

If you could retweet my tweet below linking to my Etsy shop (2025 half calendars, July-Dec) it would put my shop in front of more eyes and would help more than you know. I'd appreciate it so much. Thankyou 🌿
My Etsy shop's now open for a v. limited print run of half calendars of my tiny posy & botanical photos.
I design my photos using recent neuroscientific research so that looking at them alleviates stress & lift mood.
Each calendar=6 very high quality frameable prints:

Fucking hell. I know nobody’s in greasy overalls for you to fetishise, Labour, but this is still an industry full of working people on marginal incomes that you are voluntarily destroying, you dumb tech-fetishising goons. You just sold us for corporate strip-mining. Up the workers.

This is brilliant!
I am absolutely floored to find out that 3 members of Hollie B & The Rocketeers got together over the weekend to record this BEAUTIFUL song based on my observations!!! And not because I asked them to, but simply because they wanted to respond. People are amazing 😍🙏👏
