Your lies within, it lies within. Your truthful thoughts, it hides between. Sift the grift, with honesty and veracity. Mimicry of memory, forgetting vivid tragedy. Traumatized need to strategize to pull from the pool of evocation. Relearn your forgotten past and rise out of conflagration.

The smug sign of obsolescence
Words on pages written in blood
Faded meanings replaced by cruel lessons
Promises broken and bodies buried in mud
First peoples became first victims
Newcomers with diseased blankets from white sails
Sell your soul for beads enslave your brothers in chains

Just for your clarification, if you can get arrested for NO REASON while walking around or driving to work or your front door battering rammed because you might be brown, Businesses and schools are not operating normally. YOURE ALREADY IN MARTIAL LAW.

Do you run and flee?
Is it your duty to retreat?
When the horns of war are calling
Will you be swept up?
My blades are sharp as your tongue is wicked
I slice through your heart and the lies you speak
With truth and compassion to these soulless beasts
Awaken to the stench of fear

Saint Paul schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare for optional online learning.

I’ve seen schools close for snow, for pandemic, for natural disaster. I’ve never seen schools close because of threat from our own government.

My wife bought whistles
Renewing expired US passports
Citizen but
Can’t protest cause I’m too brown
Living paycheck to paycheck
Meanwhile people getting rich off my data
Can’t opt out or else your credit score is fucked
They blamin immigrants for tariff inflation
Lowest job growth in years

Sunday trauma simple dinner chore
Your papi gone, men slammed him to the floor
Alone at home a child wonders
Wanders out amongst strangers
The fate of men hangs on a rope
The faith in country tied and bound
Will gallow’s door lead to salvation?
The death kicks of a former free nation

A vision within early morning mists
I see men with shadows of devils
Armed & garbed for war
Against children, elderly & working poor
Rain dissipates their silhouettes
Just footsteps washed away
With coolant from a puddle
Leaking under a car abandoned
Seatbelts cut
The driver gone

I see, icy paths covered in frozen blood
I seed, a thought buried with a pickaxe
Eyes bleed, tears dry the eyes til only rust weeps
I read, words & blurbs & thoughts & crimes
Twice we’d, had a chance to stop this but too many enamored by bigoted fantasies
Lies leave all of us in purgatories

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

Immense the weight on my eyelids
Weariness worn like an old hat
Half-lidded my days a blur in silence
Voices echo but no response
Disassociate to disappointment
Crawl forward in the moments
Dreams are dust & caught in cobwebs
Life seems grey and colorless
Cracked cement after winter storms

I can't believe I'm posting this video - but we actually have to have a conversation about the real world implications of America going to war over Greenland.

Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.

Dont follow me
Watch your distance
Im anxious dude
Gripping a hilt for each instance
I cut with words
And shoot my message
The pen & the sword
Worn like a necklace
Or an IED & a drone
Miles up in the sky
When youre most feeling alone
That’s when it collides
Good and evil
A coin with 2 sides

Years ago I got hit by a car making a left turn at 4 am while I was going to work. I yelled profanities at the guy and smacked his hood. I threatened to whoop his ass. I told him he’s lucky I don’t like to be late for work. Then did a full of day of work. I did not shoot him in the face.

Oh look I made a poem about Venezuela back in November.
November skies
Dried leaves fly
Float into the air
F-18s from a carrier
Creepin close to Venezuela
Mad at your oratory zeal
Claimin freedom and other lies
When we just need oil to satisfy
A full fleet “In all the myriad grey”
Prepare for war, just another day
Freeman have no say

Blood in the snow
How many people need to become corpses
To rouse you out of your lack of senses
The scholars are fleeing
Because they read the book and know the chapters ending
We sit entranced
Every day an outrage but no one doing anything
We need more corpses
Because the atrophy is growing

New year new me?
Naw, Same shit same tree
Roots been planted here
Too stuck to turn a leaf
Not letting bygones be biomes
Decay absorbed and reborn
Ashes turned into dust storms
Your bones a pillar of failure
Your tomes lost in error
Im a sentinel of the future
Keep saplings safe and nurtured

Tips are tricks
Like societal ticks
Servers flip
Tables and rip
Receipts to dinner trips
Candlewax and smoking wicks
Blowing out a birthday wish
While boys they bus the dishes swift
Noise and talk and clicks
Tap the glass for quiet please
