If you don't already, watch Colbert. He is a man with no more f*cks left to give. And it's glorious.

Dear world: Canada just elected an intelligent, well-educated, calm, rational, non-combative, clear thinking person as Prime Minister. Wish us luck! Meanwhile, Dear USA: try forming a new party. Multi-party systems are better because they create a race to the middle, not to the extremes.

Carney: The global economy is fundamentally different today than it was yesterday. The system of global trade anchored on the United States.. is over. Our old relationship of steadily deepening integration with the United States is over. /2

Poilievre, in response to having to dump 4 candidates in the space of 48 hrs. “Our vetting process is stronger than all the other parties. That’s why we have a zero tolerance for anyone who acts unacceptably”. Who’s gonna tell him that if he had a good vetting process, he wouldn’t have to drop any?

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney:

"If the United States no longer wants to lead, Canada will."

This is what real leadership looks like.

…6) Sitting in Parliament for 20+ years with only one bill to show for it is a very weak list of accomplishments. Being on committees is not an accomplishment. What has Polilievre done? Very little. Please consider Carney with an open mind and use the info available to judge based on merit.
April 3, 2025 at 4:00 PM
…5) Carney has actual, complex, accomplishments under his belt that make Poilievre look like a neophyte. Please, I beg everyone to put partisan politics aside and look at each candidate as an individual. Carney is clearly miles above Poilievre in ability, character, and leadership.
April 3, 2025 at 3:58 PM
…4) Carney also distinguishes himself from Poilievre in his ability to connect with people (citizens and leaders), and to form alliances (something Poilievre has a lot of difficulty doing and is largely the reason why he did not manage to pass more than one bill in his entire career in government).
April 3, 2025 at 3:57 PM
…3) Carney is intelligent, speaks coherently and without anger. He has great ideas for Canada: affordable housing, climate initiatives, taxes…. The Conservatives castigate him for taking “their” ideas. Shouldn’t they then be in agreement with him? It bothers them that he is a centrist
April 3, 2025 at 3:55 PM
…2) This is fact-based information. The honest truth is that if the Conservative Party could have convinced him to work for them, HE would be their party leader right now, and not Poilievre. They chose a bad leader. Leadership matters.
April 3, 2025 at 3:54 PM
I think that the mistake a lot of people are making is that they think the Liberals, under Carney’s leadership, will be the same as the Liberals under Trudeau’s leadership. This could not be further from the truth, but it is what the Cons are trying to pound into peoples’ heads. conservative ones.
