Kinda shocked no one has taken it upon themselves to stand outsides these businesses and pass out pamphlets to tourists
The curious thing is the two tax evading "Kingdom of Treats" shops using the same name and logo in London and Edinburgh have different legal operators.

The only public legal link between the two shops in two capitals is that they share the same landlord: billionaire Asif Aziz's Criterion Capital.

Banner week for news about how much one billionaire can accomplish when they set out to ruin London
Has your local pub closed down?

It might be the work of the billionaire property developer Asif Aziz. If you recognise the name, that's because he's the man behind Criterion Capital, the firm that was recently accused of trying to shut down the Prince Charles Cinema.
Exclusive: The billionaire developer closing London's pubs
Companies linked to Asif Aziz have been buying up and shutting down some of the capital’s most beloved boozers. Now, we’ve mapped them.

This would be a huge loss for central London culture. Picturehouse has had great programming since the pandemic, especially their live Q&As. It functions as a great meeting space for Londoners, incl those in the industry. Turning it into a windowless hotel is almost comically villainous.
Asif Aziz almost forced out London’s Prince Charles Cinema earlier this year. Is he trying the same again with Picturehouse Central - and is another major central London cinema under threat from the same landlord? www.londoncentric.media/p/picturehou...
Asif Aziz almost forced out one West End cinema. Is he doing it again?
To undermine one central London cinema may be regarded as a misfortune; to do it twice two looks like carelessness.

London Centric once again doing the lord’s work on this one
He's one of Britain's richest men. So why does Asif Aziz's property company keep leasing London gift shops to overseas students based in abandoned offices or flytipped car parks — before vanishing without paying millions of pounds in taxes? www.londoncentric.media/p/asf-aziz-l...
The billionaire and the tax evading gift shops
Asif Aziz's Criterion Capital manages a row of high-profile shops at Piccadilly Circus. So why does his team keeping renting them to students who vanish without paying millions of pounds in taxes?

Nailed the Bluesky-AI hate
AI has real uses which are mostly unhelpful to the creative class that dominates on here and the forced adoption of unwanted AI features on basically every platform makes people understandably annoyed, producing some of the most disproportionately nasty discourse imaginable
