What a night. I cried, I raged, I saw others and I felt seen. Thank you Joelle Taylor for understanding that femme is also a norm-busting performance - what will hopefully be my second collection features a sequence on high femme as a deflection of the patriarchal gaze and burlesque as subversion.

Researching a poem, I'm amazed loo roll dolls are still around. Most houses in the 1980s had one. I prefer artist Shauna Richardson's Drag Race take: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-60166442 The doll in my poem escapes to enjoy a 3-way with Sindy & Barbie. Take that, Section 28 ;)
