When starting out, EAT YOUR ARTISTS aka consume their art, look at what you like about the artists you follow & what you think you could work with/add to your own art, and then ADD IT!
see if it works, if it doesn't. Rework it to work FOR YOU! instead of comparing yourself to them, learn from them

When starting out, EAT YOUR ARTISTS aka consume their art, look at what you like about the artists you follow & what you think you could work with/add to your own art, and then ADD IT!
see if it works, if it doesn't. Rework it to work FOR YOU! instead of comparing yourself to them, learn from them

measuring twice and cutting once is real advice! taking the time to pull together references and sort of letting an idea simmer is helpful - you may still need to iterate, but a strong foundation is such an energy saver, and leads to stronger technical knowledge.
