Super Mario Bros (1993) theory: since irl Bob Hoskins was ≈18 years older than John Leguizamo, I suggest that Luigi isnt Mario's brother but actually his illegitimate son from a teenage dalliance, and he has kept this secret for decades so as not to offend the very Catholic extended Mario family

I recently purchased the Super Mario Bros Movie (1993) and good fucking grief is it an insane watch.
I saw it in theaters as a kid and now ive watched it twice as an adult and I just can't believe it.

One of the most unique things Super Mario Bros. The Movie (1993) did was pairing Daisy up with Luigi, which TECHNICALLY Nintendo had ‘done’ previously (they put Daisy next to Luigi) but wasn’t really a THING I’d say movie producers would have on their radar in 1993. They just DID that!

I'll just go ahead and say it. I honestly think Dennis Hopper stole the 1993 Mario Bros movie by playing as Bowser.
He absolutely nailed that role.

Super Mario Bros. (1993). What a glorious dumpster fire of a movie. I remember when this looked fancy and futuristic to my shitty kid brain back in the day. Loved it then, and for very different reasons, still love it now.
