I was unexpectedly admitted to hospital on Sunday 5th October where I remained until my discharge this afternoon.
Post Dragon's Back Race my foot was still swollen and sore.
I was diagnosed with a DVT on Friday morning.
I've documented my experience in a blog.

My post Dragon’s Back Race DVT & TIA/Migraine health issues prevented me from running a single step for over 10 weeks, & my running fitness fell off a cliff. It has been tough mentally & physically getting back to running. Finally, the numbers are now moving in the right direction.

If it's possible, they need to make the most of daylight and the clockwise loop to make up some time and give themselves a realistic chance of a 5 loop finish.
Damian Hall began loop 3 barefoot at 22:54:26. Mathieu Blanchard and Sébastien Raichon began loop 3 shortly thereafter. #BM100

Added them to Strava (I like to celebrate the kms my shoes cover).
I don’t need a reminder to replace them (I take my lead from my shoes, not an arbitrary measure).

Following my ordeal as an NHS patient towards the end of 2025, I was back at the hospital this morning for a minor procedure. I'm pleased to report that the experience was absolutely fantastic from admission to discharge. When it works well, our NHS is superb.
