Man, Nioh 2 is so much easier when:
A: You know how to use yokai abilities as combo extenders or enders.
B: You don't neglect your leveling courage and heart and run out of breathe every swing. You can't even START certain combos with splitstaff without investment!!!

It's nice of Koei Tecmo to show us in the Nioh3 demo that half of the weapons are fundamentally different, so if you haven't played them but had an interest in learning/experiencing them before, and also you're allergic to $70 price tags, you could just play Nioh2 again n wait for 3 to go on sale.
