Mainly baking, beer, allotment gardening and computer type stuff. With a little bit spirituality, politics and current affairs from time to time as well. Happy to talk about any of that.
Inspiring, hopeful stuff. And I'm half a world away. Imagine what it's like close up...

I'm boycotting the state banquet to send a message to both Donald Trump and Keir Starmer that they cannot close their eyes and wish away the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Donald Trump can stop this catastrophe in Gaza and get the hostages released.

I’m not going to leave X just yet - I hate that sense of being driven away from a place I used to love. But after one day on here, I already know how much prefer it.

So if you see this and would be kind enough to share it to let people find me, that would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I can't remember the last time I went out for a pint and managed to get a bag of chips on the way home, but I did tonight. Mainly because I was out early, and going home early enough to catch a chip shop open. But hey... It still counts.

I'm not usually in a pub on my own on a Saturday before 5pm, but when I am it's because I've been digging on my allotment for over four hours and I've earned every drop of this pint of a Guinness Extra Cold.

So it turns out the "arthritis" in my right knee was actually caused by my habit of sitting at my desk and absent-mindedly pushing my knee against the pedestal, and it was rectified by simply fitting a pipe insulator over the protruding corner.

At school in the seventies I recall learning about these weird people from a place called France who ate pastries for breakfast and dipped them in their coffee.

@chrisrsaxon.bsky.social Hi Chris. I discovered today that Oracle 19.13 supports getDate() but I know 12.2 didn't. I need to advise others on this as we often get sent SQL Server style SQL from our database "independent" supplier. If you can point me to some documentation I'd appreciate it. Thanks
