Sunshine and coffee and cats. I plant pollinator gardens. I could talk all day long using only song lyrics.

A friend is looking for someone to finish this knitting project that her mum was doing when she passed away. It’s a poncho. I thought it was just the neck, but actually it’s only half done and the whole back needs to match this, and then a big cowl neck. I think it’s beyond my skill level 🧶…

wow!
Earlier on the expedition we found the most beautiful flower, and here, my friends, is the biggest: Rafflesia arnoldi seen in full bloom today in the Sumatran jungle. This is the largest flower on earth and one of the greatest wonders of the natural world.

Morning all. A really cold frosty start to the day, with a shepherd’s warning sky. First job of the day is to insulate the wormery for the coming winter months. I’ll be recycling some packaging which should do the job. Keep warm & safe everyone 😊 🌱

It’s bare root rose planting season and if you’re still deciding on new additions consider hip producing varieties. Essential to the ecosystem, this provides a hugely valuable food source for birds who in turn are a mainstay of pest control. 🌱

Isn’t this gorgeous? I don’t expect to see the Jade Vine flowering in November but it really is in the Wisley Glasshouse and is looking even more spectacular with the lights of Glow around it. #flowersonFriday 🌱

🌍🌸🌻🌱🌾🌳🪾🍁🥀 New today! Plant of the week from Jess, Izzy & Niamh, all students who have competed in Botanical University Challenge.

They have chosen a very seasonal plant for today, the rowan, also called mountain ash. Now often grown in gardens or street tree in UK and Ireland. #BUC2026

I’ve been making #RecipeOfTheDay – Kale with Chorizo and Poached Egg – for over a quarter of a century, and recommend it deeply. The kale I tend to go for now is cavolo nero, rather than its original curly kale. Recipe includes my stress-free egg poaching method, btw www.nigella.com/recipes/kale...
Kale With Chorizo and Poached Egg
There is something so of-the-moment about this recipe, which is odd since it comes from a book published 20 years ago. I seem to remember also that I did a lot of wistful complaining in How To Eat ab...

I have nothing but love for these Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pots, a weekend-greeting #RecipeOfTheDay or, frankly, anytime delight. Quick and easy as they are, I often make them up ahead of time (see notes under recipe) and just pop them in the oven when needed. www.nigella.com/recipes/choc...
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pots
My children love a chocolate chip cookie so gooey on the inside that I can’t really make the outside firm enough to let the cookies keep integrity of form. This, then, is the solution: a cookie dough ...
