Can’t fault Jennifer Lawrence’s committed performance but Die My Live is undone by the couple’s underwritten relationship and especially by Pattinson’s (idiot or unfeeling twat of a) husband.

What fictional villain/creature traumatised you as a child?

The Thin Man gave me so many nightmares.

Amazing to see this in the big screen this morning. Still an extraordinary masterpiece.
Hard to believe Gordon Willis wasn’t Oscar nominated for his cinematography.
But then he wasn’t for Godfathers 1 & 2 🤯

5 days, 6 films, 2 gigs and 1 lovely catch up. Not a bad final trip of the year. See you in 2026, London.

Always fun having to make someone move from your seat.
They tried the usual someone’s sat in our seats bollocks. But given they’re now playing their phones out loud, they obviously just cunts.

A fine way to spend my last morning down here- seeing one of my all time faves at the pics.
Or it will be if I make it. Slightly misjudged travelling time 🤦🏻‍♂️

Nuremberg is a timely, if not downright necessary film. Sadly it’s also a bit of a clunker.

Not to sound like a grumpy old man but I am grumpy (and also officially old now) but I’ve never had a trip to London wheee so many people stopped/blocked shop/tubedoorways, pavements
Is everyone becoming denser or just full on I-don’t-give-a toss-about-anyone cunts?

Cannot get the “I am useless person” seven out of my head.
I don’t know if it was because I hadn’t seen it for so long but I don’t remember the last the time the fate of one character caused me so much stress and heartbreak.
Followed that with the 25th anniversary rerelease of The House of Mirth.
Forgot just how devastating it is. That Gillian Anderson performance…no words. Criminal that she was neither Oscar nor bafta nominated for it.

A pretty perfect afternoon at the pics.
First up was the beautiful and tender Train Dreams with a great Joel Edgerton performance and a wearily lovely one from William H Macy.
Prob way too slow for some but I felt every single frame.
